Look for Less: Ralph Lauren vs. MADE

Ralph Lauren Fringed Suede Hobo

When I spotted this hobo in Ralph Lauren's Fall collection, I instantly became enamored with the dramatic fringe detailing. The suede exterior and oversized stitching adds to the western aesthetic. It's the perfect grab-and-go bag for casual weekend wear. The large capacity and ease of a magnetic closure will certainly come in handy for busy moms on the go. However, I'm not quite sold on the color, the handle drop could be longer and $1250 is a bit steep. Well, well, well... what do we have here?

MADE Fringe Hinge

Introducing the Fringe Hinge Hobo from MADE. It features everything we love about the Ralph Lauren bag with quite a few added bells and whistles. The silver-plated hardware showcased on the adjustable shoulder straps is my favorite detail, but I also appreciate the broad range of color options and customization possibilities. Did I mention the price? Purchase directly from MADE for $595. Sold!

Michael, I didn't know you were still blogging! So happy to have found you again! Also happy that someone out there loves suede and fringe. I have been on the lookout for a great fringe back, but they are hard to find. They either border over-the-top in design or very sub-par in quality. Saw the RL one and thought it was just over-priced. Very ironic that I was in my local Anthroplogie yesterday and a beautiful suede bag caught my eye, and alas, it was by MADE. Never heard of them, but am going to check this one out in your post. Thanks! gail

Hi Gail! It's always a pleasure to hear from you.

I took a brief hiatus this summer, but there are so many great bags this season that I couldn't wait to start blogging again.

Living in Texas, I think it's a law that one like suede and fringe. Lol!

MADE is an awesome up and coming American brand that specializes in superior craftsmanship and fine leathers, but their bags won't break the bank. I whole-heartedly recommend them.
