An avid BagPoor reader sent me a request for work tote options under $800, and I figured that I should share my suggestions with all of you. As most of you know, my favorite Spring trend is color-blocking and quite a few contemporary designers have embraced bright hues. Here are a few options that won't break the bank.
2. Anya Hindmarch Nevis Tote, $995, NET-A-PORTER
3. Diane Von Furstenberg Drew Bucket Tote, $575
4. 3.1 Phillip Lim 31 Hour Bag, $795
Personally, I would opt for Mary Jo Matsumoto's shopper. Who can resist crisp white calfskin paired with turquoise snakeskin handles? It's the epitome of affordable luxury.

I love the shape and functionality of #1, I'm just not sure if the white is realistic (for me).
The Nevis is pretty fun too, I'd use it as a tennis bag, it matches a lot of my things :)
Thanks Michael for including me in your wonderful round up! So glad I am your favored pick! I am going to opt for that bag in the Trestles blue with neon yellow for this summer.
Did you see the recent article (I think it was NYT) about men carrying women's totes everywhere on the streets? I thought it was interesting.
xo Mary Jo
So happy to have found your blog! In LOVE with the first bag (white one) with the turquoise real snakeskin handles and tassel. The neon yellow ultra suede on the inside is to die for too!
I knew you would deliver...I think I may have to go with the DVF in greystone. I appreciate the simplicity and the tassle.
Thank for stopping by ladies! Glad you're all digging the colorblocking trend as much as I am. I didn't see that article MJ, but I'm not surprised. Men have definitely been catching up with women in terms of carrying bags, especially in Asia. Ironically, I've been finding myself less drawn to them. Of course, I have my Bottega for work, and my travel bags, but I just don't have much use for leisure bags anymore. Now, I'm obsessed with luxury watches, which I'm finding to be even more costly than designer bags. Hmph! What's a fashionisto to do? :-)
