The only quilted bags that get me out of my chair are usually Chanel, but this Alexander Wang clutch is certainly an exception. For a long time designers have been throwing predictable diamond patterned quilted bags at us, so I am relieved to see something unique. The craftsmanship that is illustrated in the intricate quilting that envelops the bag is truly astounding. I actually thought it was Alexander McQueen at first glance. Did I mention that this clutch can also be worn as a shoulder bag, with the detachable strap? In an effort not to distract from the beautifully quilted leather, the subtle brass ribbed bar clasp lays flat against the bag. I know I haven't been Wang's biggest supporter over the last year, but I am highly impressed with his spin on an age old concept.
