I discovered Akris apparel at Saks Fifth Avenue many years ago and immediately fell in love with the quiet sophistication of the brand. You can imagine my excitement when I found out they were launching a new accessories collection for Spring 2010, and it did not disappoint. All of the bags are stunning and the ad campaign starring Daphne Guinness is genius! My favorite design is the trapezoid-shaped Ai bag, which is actually an "A" for Akris. The rich horsehair fabric in a variety of beautiful colors and leather trim detailing is so modern and effortlessly chic. Lastly, and perhaps most notably, the minimalistic design has not been interrupted with a single logo! The gray version pictured above, which is the most appropriate size in my opinion, is a whopping $4800 at Akris boutiques. Call 212-717-1170 for additional purchasing information. I'm seriously considering picking up the messenger version of this bag in black and I have a feeling that we're going to see the clutch variation on quite a few "must-have" lists.

Stunning images dear :o] will look out for d label.
akris,,just found out bout the brand on vogue this month,i love the design but they should made it from leather, which will give more sophisticated look on the bag,wat do u think mr bagpoor?
Glad I could introduce some of you to the brand! You raise a valid point Jemima. I actually find the horsehair fabric more interesting than leather and it's perfect for a casual Spring/Summer daytime look. However, the price point should probably be a bit lower. For 2K, you can get a Fendi Peek-a-boo and Akris reps should bear in mind that the label is new to accessories and hasn't yet cultivated a devoted following.
i totally agree with u.this brand well not to say that its very establised in the fashion industry compare to any other luxurious company such as fendi, so they really need to convince fashionista out there with the design and make the price more reasonable..otherwise its better for a person like me to get fendi peek a boo or even marc jacobs.
The Akris Ai bags are truly stunning, and I believe they're destined to become instant classics just like Gucci's Jackie hobobags from the late 90s. The bag is ingeniously designed -- you can unfold the corners, tuck the straps inside and wear the bag as a rectangular shopper.
The next to the smallest bag will sell for $4,400. The next to the largest will go for $4,800. Unfortunately I can't afford to spend that kind of money, on anything, let alone a handbag -- no matter how wonderful. But I did learn to sew a few years ago, and I'm now trying to make my own Ai bag for my own personal use.
I finally saw this bag IRL and it's even more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. However, the prices are absolutely ridiculous! The SMALLEST bag is $3489 and the prices go up from there!!!
