To be frank, I usually find Celine bags rather unremarkable. That's probably why I've never posted one. But when I spotted this tote in Vogue Magazine a couple of months ago, I knew it was something special. The classic shape has been updated with a contrasting color palette and high-end materials. Supple black leather paired with a creamy beige suede certainly gives the bag a decidedly modern aesthetic, but it still maintains the timeless style that we've come to expect from Celine. It has a large capacity as well as a multitude of interior and exterior compartments, but I want to talk about the zippered closure. I don't know about you, but I always feel uncomfortable when the contents of my bag are up for grabs, so when I find a chic tote that can actually fasten, I get excited. The understated logo, curved leather detailing and gold-tone feet all contribute to the effortless Parisian luxury of this handbag. The Bicolor Celine tote was made in Italy and it retails for $2349 at Matches Fashion. It's also available at Barney's and, of course, Celine boutiques worldwide. Looks like Phoebe Philo may finally be finding her footing at Celine!

My only real complaint with this design is the fact that, if you stare long enough at it, it looks like a face with a tongue hanging out the side of the mouth. I'd ditch the zippered pocket altogether and make the top handles a few inches longer.
The second bag looks like it was made in the dark by my yr old. Horrid!
I don't mind the zippered pocket Dania, but I certainly wouldn't miss it, if it mysteriously disappeared. Could you imagine carrying that linen bag? Not only is it fugly, but it's gonna look so stupid when in use.
Not bad, but not really feelingit either! The other one makes no sense.
Whoever is nuts enough to buy that linen bag deserves to get laughed at. It's designs like that which make me question whether or not Phoebe Philo will ever truly recover her mojo. She's being shamefully out-designed by Hannah MacGibbon.
