I promise I really wanted to ring in the new year with a fabulous bag, but as hard as I tried to ignore these ridiculous pompoms that Lanvin has been attempting to shove down our throats, I just can't let this one go. A couple of embellishments is one thing, but to completely envelope a tiny tote in oversized pompoms not only makes for a fugly bag, but it's not even functional. How does one manage to carry this tote without staging an all out pompom war? To add insult to injury, the Lanvin Taffeta Pompom Tote retails for $1440 at Kirna Zabete. Let me repeat that...$1440 for a cheap nylon and cotton tote covered in multicolored monstrosities! Congrats Lanvin...it's January 1st and you've already managed to ensure your spot on the worst bags list of 2010!

DAYUM!! You picked a real pickle, Michael. What ticks me off is that Elbaz can criticize overweight people (by that I mean like a size 8 or something ridiculous like that) and state that he only designs for thin, beautiful people, yet turn around and allow crap like this to carry the Lanvin name.
I love Lanvin, but this is pretty darn horrid.
Happy New Year, though, to everyone at Bagpoor.
ooo this is so fun! Happy New Year!
THANK YOU! I thought maybe it was just me. Glad to see others aren't enamored with it either.
Without the pom poms the bag would be pretty.

Hi Michael! Happy new year to you! :)) Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving such sweet comments ^o^ I wish you all the best in this new year! xoxo
Really Dania? I had no idea that Elbaz designed solely for skinny b******! But he's super obese?!? I love Lanvin RTW, but finding an attractive bag from them is starting to become an arduous task.
Elbaz is the classic case of the kettle calling the pot black. Some of his comments about weight, beauty, etc... are so prejudiced, I find it impossible to reconcile his artistic talents with the ignorant person he's shown himself to be.
I also agree about finding a good Lanvin bag lately. It is quite a task.
