Bergdorf Goodman Window Displays

"Bergdorf Goodman's windows were inspired by Lewis Carroll's books and poems. David Hoey, the store's director of visual presentation, says it takes a full year to produce the displays." (nymag.com) Which window is your favorite? I'm leaning towards the second display. It's like Alice and Wonderland on acid!

Bedazzled Minaudieres

While flipping through the December issue of Vogue Magazine I spotted these ornate clutches designed by up and coming designer, Rafe. He launched his handbag collection in 1995 and is most well known for being chosen by Target, in 2005, as the first accessories designer to create a capsule collection. These minaudieres epitomize the designer's philosophy that a Rafe accessory is the exclamation point to any fashion statement. The tie-dyed fabric clutches have been completely enveloped in a gorgeous mosaic of stones and jewels. These bags are available at upscale department stores and specialty boutiques worldwide for $275. For additional information, check out Rafe's website.

How adorable is this Chloe clutch? The pale yellow waxed canvas has been embellished with an intricate design of beads, rhinestones and studs. The piece de resistance is the charming kiss lock clasp. It also comes with a dust bag, which is essential for storing such a lightly hued clutch. This bag is so Carrie Bradshaw...flirty, feminine, and FUN! Purchase at Portero for $1295 $459. That's 65% off!

Chloé Marcie Tote

As promised, here's the Chloé Marcie tote that you've been waiting for. When I saw the crocodile version at the Spring 2010 runway show, I immediately fell in love with the shape of this bag. My only concern was that it appeared to be a bit oversized. Well, look what I found! This smaller leather version is the quintessential 'hand' bag. The supple Italian leather tote features that textured, curvy flap and wrapped handle that we all fell in love with on the hobo as well as brushed gold hardware...my fave. The whiskey and mocha colors are neutral without being dull and I'm obsessed with the creamy beige and black variations. Blah, blah, blah...what are you waiting for? Purchase the Chloé Marcie tote at Net-a-Porter.com for $1595.

Dolce & Gabbana Miss Night & Day

I'm not a huge fan of Dolce & Gabbana bags, but when they get it right, they really do create some lust worthy pieces. The Miss Night & Day Hobo is one of those rare instances. This gently pleated, sumptuous Italian leather hobo comes in black or tan with contrasting patent leather accents. It's quite large at 14 1/2"W x 10"H x 4 1/2"D, and will definitely accommodate all of your daily essentials. The stand out aspect of this hobo is undoubtedly the chain detailing incorporated into the shoulder strap. It's an ultra chic combination of grey, peach and black resin. I also love the fact that the removable logo plaque is hanging discreetly on the side of the bag. How many times have we seen a perfectly lovely Dolce & Gabbana bag completely ruined by that damn plaque? Both versions of the Miss Night & Day Hobo are $1,495. This one is a no brainer in my opinion. The only question is...which color to get? At first glance I was positive that black would be my choice, but after careful inspection I came to the realization that the tan leather provides the perfect backdrop for the grey patent straps. Shop Dolce & Gabbana bags at Net-a-Porter.com.

P.S. Don't you just love the fact that the black leather version has brown patent straps and both bags feature gold and silver hardware? Only Dolce & Gabbana!

Chloé Marcie Hobo

Chloé's Spring 2010 cruise collection is amazing! The Marcie is my favorite bag and I will be featuring the tote version later this week. For now, you can ogle over the hobo. The python is breathtaking, but I actually prefer the buttery-soft Italian leather. It's much more practical and significantly cheaper.

This bag is the ultimate must-have for Spring. The simple hobo shape has been updated with the textured flap, wrapped handle and the hanging leather straps. The front flap conceals a zippered pocket that will certainly come in handy when you simply need to answer your phone or grab your wallet at the grocery store Neiman Marcus. The minimal gold hardware is hardly detectable, but the embossed "Chloé" branded on the front flap is even more subtle. I adore the mocha color and the whiskey is to die for.

The Marcie hobo also comes in a creamy beige and black. All four color options are available at Net-a-Porter.com for $1595. Not a bad price for a large neutral hobo that will undoubtedly go with everything!

Giuseppe Zanotti Flap Clutch

You all know I love a mean clutch! This Giuseppe Zanotti Design has sexy written all over it...literally. The leather clutch has crystal letter accents that spell random words. For some odd reason, I get excited over bags with funky writing all over them. It's funny because I cannot stand monogrammed bags, but if you envelope the clutch in ridiculous catch phrases, I'm ready to splurge. The magnetic flap closure makes it easy to open and close and allows the writing to continue from back to front without interruption. This clutch is definitely an attention grabber! It is $1144.00 at zappos.com and is bound to look good in anyone's arms.

When I first saw the clutch I thought it looked familiar. Our favorite side walk fashionista, Rihanna actually carried a similar clutch for New York's Fashion Night Out with Giuseppe himself by her side. Obviously, this is a funky piece that anyone can have fun with. I mean look at these two...nuff said!

Ho Ho Ho...Merry Christmas!

What better way to celebrate the holidays than with fabulous red and green bags? The Ellsworth frame clutch practically screams elegance and luxury. The removable gold tone chain will certainly come in handy when you've had one too many egg nogs at a holiday party. It's the perfect size at 5" x 7 1/2" x 1 1/2"...not too petite, but not oversized either. You have to feel the pillow soft consistency of this bag to believe it. It's like clutching a cloud! Purchase the green lizard version for $1430 and the red python Ellsworth for $1161 at Sang A. For the more daring among us, the Ritz is for you. It's basically a clutch that has been completely enveloped in fox fur. The chain shoulder strap and circle wristlet are detachable. Both, the emerald green and raspberry versions of the Ritz, retail for $1495 at Vivre. No one does exotic bags like Sang A!

Jerome Dreyfuss Franky Bag

The possibilities are endless when it comes to the Jerome Dreyfuss Franky Bag. Usually I don't go for convertible bags, but in this case both versions are completely useable, wearable and visually appealing. Obviously it's functional as a very large tote, but when using the shoulder strap, the slouchy tote folds into a sizeable daytime clutch. The minimal stud detailing is a nice departure from the overly studded bags that designers have been attempting to shove down our throats lately. The python skin is gorgeous and certainly gives the simple design a touch of elegance. It's lined in beige suede and even the dust bag is lambskin. Now that's luxury! Purchase the Jerome Dreyfuss Franky Bag through La Garconne for $2565. This one's definitely going on my Christmas list!

Weekly Fashion Roundup!

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are on the December cover of Harper's Bazaar. I wanted to hate it, but they look great and the styling is impeccable!

Victoria's Secret just picked five new angels and they're all stunning...of course! Emanuela de Paula, Lindsay Ellingson, Candice Swanepoel, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Chanel Iman will be gracing us with their presence in this year's fashion show, which will air on CBS December 1st.

In other Victoria's Secret news, these are the ten finalists from their nationwide model search. We get to vote for our favorite model on VSAllAccess.com starting November 9th! Whomever gets the most votes will walk in the fashion show. Team shiny girl!

"Carmen Colle, a 61-year-old seamstress in a small town in Eastern France, is suing Chanel for $3.7 million over a crochet pattern they allegedly copied from her. Colle has made pieces for Chanel before, but alleges they never bought the disputed design. She first saw a Chanel cardigan with the pattern in question in a shop in Tokyo in 2004. After four and a half years, her case is finally in court. Armed and ready for a fight, Chanel says they came up with the design all their own." (nymag.com) Ohhh...this should be good!

Traveling Trunks!

I'll never forget the first time I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria. It was such a breathtaking hotel. I've always had the taste of an 80 year old Jewish woman so the floral prints, ginormous chandeliers, marble floors and cherry wood furniture totally worked for me. After seeing the Lion King on Broadway, which was awesome by the way, my friend Shannan and I wondered aimlessly around Manhattan. Of course, we had to stop by the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.

Then we headed to Saks Fifth Avenue, where Shannan wasn't supposed to let me buy anything since I was a poor college student, but I just couldn't help myself.

FYI - The coat is Ralph Lauren and the scarf is Fendi. I made my first exotic purchase...a crocodile wallet from the Saks Fifth Avenue private collection. Can you see the glee written all over my face?

Isn't she beautiful? FYI - I picked up the LV cell phone case (or at least, that's what I use it for) in Fall 2006. We headed back to the room armed with McDonald's and Junior's Cheesecake, where we proceeded to interrupt everyone else's sleep with loud talking, eating, drinking, dancing, singing...and so on and so forth. This was the aftermath of our debauchery.

FYI - The black messenger bag is Fall 2005 Christian Dior. Please excuse the ridiculous Eddie Bauer suitcase that I thought was sooo cool in 8th grade. I vowed that day to get a Louis Vuitton trunk. Everyone else at the Waldorf had one and I wanted one too! Immediately after returning home, I did a little research and quickly discovered that I couldn't afford a LV trunk unless I sold my car, so I settled for a Globetrotter.

I'm actually quite pleased with my decision. I saved about $10,000 and the Globetrotter has its advantages. The wheels and pop-out handle make for much easier transport. However, I always kept the LV trunk in the back of my mind and I think I just found one that I can you may be able to actually afford.

This isn't your typical monogrammed Louis Vuitton luggage. It's a gently used (green) epi leather (my fave) 80cm trunk. So many adjectives come to mind...chic, sophisticated, iconic, luxurious, timeless...I could go on and on. Black leather provides the perfect backdrop for the golden brass hardware. The grey suede interior features a removable layer with two fabric fastener straps and the black protective cover comes in handy for storage purposes. Someone please snatch this up before I do. It's available at Portero.com for $5450.
